We’re Megs & Jax - we’re so happy you’re here! We are two 30-somethings who love books, drinks, and adventures. You can find our musing about all of these things and more in these pages.

We first met while interning in college and instantly bonded over our love of books, shoes (specifically sparkly stilettos - hows that for alliteration), and wine. A few years go by. Jax marries Megs, Megs marries Jax (we officiated each other’s weddings to our Brians - yes both of our husbands are named Brian), and have done as elder millennials do and had an Instagram/Podcast baby!

Book(s) that made you fall in love with reading: "The Princess Bride" by William Goldman
Anything that was written by Mark Twain
Short Stories of F. Scott Fitzgerald

Book(s) you will never stop recommending: "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee
"Taste: My Life through Food" by Stanley Tucci
"The Last Thing He Told Me" by Laura Dave
"What Kind Of Women" by Kate Baer
"Firekeeper's Daughter" by Angeline Boulley

Favorite author: Changes weekly! but as of now, I'll read anything that Emily Henry puts out!

Favorite genres: How can I choose just one! Love a really good thriller, romance, or dark fantasy.

Longest / shortest book read: Kate Baer puts out wonderful poetry books that are fairly short, but so worth the read! The longest would have to be one of the Sarah J. Maas books.

Worst book hangover: I recently read about 5 books in the span of 7 days and needed to take a few days off from just the overwhelming amount of stories in my head. But I think after I finished the "Crescent City" books was the worst one as of late.

Saddest book read: "The Call Me Number One: Secrets and Survival at an Indian Residential School" by Bev Sellars. It's the true story of Xat'sull Chief Bev Sellars being forced to spend her childhood at a residential school in Canada and how that impacted her, and her family and community's lives.

Book turned movie/show that you love or hate: "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "the Princess Bride" are the only two movies that are just as good as the books and I'll watch them every chance I get!

Book pet peeves: When the covers have characters on them and they don't match the descriptions in the book!

Obsessions outside of books: Music! Sunglasses! Tea! The autumn in New England! The ocean!

Book(s) that made you fall in love with reading: The entire Harry Potter series

Book(s) you will never stop recommending: “Forget Me Not” by Julie Soto and “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Favorite author: I mean there are so many, but some of my auto-buy authors include: Julie Soto, Ali Hazelwood, Marie Maravilla, Mariel Pomeroy, & Molly Tullis!

Favorite genres: Currently romance, fantasy, & thrillers!

Longest / shortest book read: “Crescent City” by Sarah J. Maas - both books are just over 800 pages each. Shortest would probably be the Ali Hazelwood STEMinist Novellas.

Worst book hangover: “House of Sky & Breath” (Crescent City #2) by Sarah J. Maas - I was wrecked for DAYS after finishing this one. I managed to avoid all spoilers, so I won’t ruin anything for you either, but MAN this was guttural.

Saddest book read: It doesn’t take much to make me cry, but the ones that I remember crying the hardest for are “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” by Mitch Albom and “The Song of Achilles” by Madeline Miller.

Book turned movie/show that you love or hate: “My Sister’s Keeper” by Jodi Piccoult - This book was one of my favorites and the movie was an abomination. IYKYK.

Book pet peeves: Stickers on covers and covers with movie/show images.

Obsessions outside of books: the beach, skiing, Booty by Brabants, my family, & my fur babies!
